Terms of Service

Last updated: August 21, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and CruxDoc for using cruxdoc.com. By using the service you accept them. They are written to be read, not skimmed past; the parts that matter most are your ownership of your content, what the AI can and cannot promise, and how billing works.

The service

CruxDoc lets you upload documents and recordings, ask questions about them, and generate study materials such as summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and blurting exercises. Answers cite the page or timestamp they come from, and quoted citations are checked against your document before they are shown.

The AI can be wrong. Citation checking makes answers verifiable; it does not make them infallible. Answers may be incomplete or incorrect, and you are responsible for verifying anything you rely on, especially for exams, submissions, or decisions. CruxDoc is a study aid, not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to it secure. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old. You can also try CruxDoc without an account; trial uploads are deleted after 24 hours.

Your content

You keep ownershipof everything you upload and everything generated from it for you. You give us only the limited license needed to run the service: to store your content, process it (including sending excerpts to our AI providers to answer your questions), and display it back to you. We do not use your content to train AI models, and our providers' API terms do not permit it either.

You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malware.

Fair use

Plan limits (documents, pages, questions) are enforced server-side and exist so the service stays affordable. Do not attempt to circumvent limits, resell access, scrape the service, probe its security, or disrupt it for others. We may suspend accounts that do.

Plans and billing

The Free plan is free. Pro is a monthly subscription (currently $19 per month), processed by Stripe, and renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro until then. If we change prices, existing subscribers get notice before their price changes. If you downgrade, your content is kept but actions above the lower plan's limits are blocked until you are back within them.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using CruxDoc and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. On termination, the retention rules in the Privacy Policy apply.

Disclaimers and liability

CruxDoc is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate, available, and safe, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $20 if you have paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes

We may update the service and these terms. For meaningful changes to the terms we will update this page and the date above, and notify subscribers by email or in the app. Continuing to use CruxDoc after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of Gujarat, India.
